Entries in awards (8)

Making a Mark: 2nd Place Award

My painting Message in a Bottle was awarded Making a Mark's 2nd Place Best Picture of the Year (Still Life) on an Art Blog - tied with Julian Merrow-Smith for second place. First place was won by Neil Hollingsworth.

I have long admired the work by both these wonderful painters, so I am thrilled to be in their very good company!

Also, a workshop students of mine, Loriann Signori, tied for First Place in the Landscape category, congrats Loriann!

A huge thank you to Katherine Tyrrell who is the author of Making a Mark. She does an incredible job keeping up with what's going on in the world of art blogs!

First Place Award for Still Life at the Art Renewal Center Salon

My painting Bottle Collection has been awarded First Prize in the Still Life category at this year's International ARC Salon.

I have been poring over the annual catalog of this competition for years. Last year to have my work included in the Top 100 was a dream come true. This year's recognition is beyond my wildest expectations.

Juror's Choice Award

I was thrilled to go to the ArtSpan Exhibition tonight and see that my painting Wrapped Silver Goblet has won a Juror's Choice Award.

The ArtSpan Exhibition is the central show displaying one artwork for each of 400 Open Studios participating artists. It's a great way to see a preview of the studios and plan your visit.

ArtSpan has recently redesigned their website, please visit for more info about all the Open Studios events.

Also, I now have a profile posted there.

Oil Painters of America Juried Exhibition

My painting Silver Globe Pitcher has been accepted into this year's Oil Painters of America 2009 Western Regional Juried Exhibition!

The show will be held at Howard/Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, Washington, August 8 through August 30, 2009.

Hudson River Fellowship

I've been accepted to this year's Hudson River Fellowship, 4 weeks studying landscape painting with Jacob Collins! So I'll be spending this July in upstate New York, trekking my pochade box around the Catskills.
